Dust Off Your Running Shoes

L  and I are excited to be part of thevolunteer organizing committee for the Sport Chek Mother’s Day Run & Walk raising funds for Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation

According to their website, the Stollery Pediatric Emergency department is currently undergoing construction as it is treating more than double the number of patients it was designed to support.  Funds raised through this event will be put towards the purchase of ultrasound machines critical to quickly diagnose and treat these young patients.  We were at the Stollery a couple of nights this week and were reminded of exactly how important a facility like this is to Edmonton.  The struggles and bravery of the young patients we met is truly inspiring.

The Mother’s Day Run & Walk has a 5 & 10 km Run and a 5 km walk.  It starts at Foot Field on the U of A South Campus.  I participated in the 5km walk with my Mom a couple of years ago and had a wonderful day.

L & I are responsible for the course, so we hope to see many of you running or walking past us.  I’m posting about this event now to give you time to start training!!

Have a super weekend!  We’re off to Lit Italian Wine Bar tonight to hear Krystle Dos Santos sing songs from her Fame Fatale cd set to be released on February 1.  We’ll give you a full report tomorrow.
