What’s in your dinner?

Me and S have a new favourite spot downtown, and while it’s not necessarily new on the Edmonton dining scene (like say Queen of Tarts or the new Transcend Jasper), it definitely deserves some press.  Health Fare offers fresh, wholesome food in the downtown hub.   We have been there a couple of times now after roaming through the shops of downtown or post yoga at Shanti.

Reasons to love it:

  1. Amid a sea of less than healthy options, Health Fare created its menu with assistance from both chefs and dietitians, ensuring a delicious and nutritious meal!
  2. Both locations (Downtown and Southside in Edmonton) were designed with some of the most eco-friendly products out there including reclaimed wood tables, pressed sorghum counter tops (move over bamboo!), and even tankless water heating.
  3. For the health-conscious eater, nutritional information in posted right on the menu.
  4. And last but not least, for choosy eaters like me they have loads of vegan options that they are more than open to customizing where possible.

And not to fret for those Calgary readers who want to give Health Fare a try, there are 2 location out in your city too!!  Take a look at our mouth-watering entrees this week:

Baker Chicken Salad

Sweet Potato Fries and Asparagus Dill Salad

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

I also love Healthfare! My favourite dish is the Bakker Salad, which I now make at home all the time now because it’s the best for leftovers for lunch!

Sorry I’m THAT person who promotes herself, but I wrote an article about is place last summer and interviewed the owner/founder of Healthfare… http://mergemag.ca/the-business/118-fast-food-grows-up.html, if you were interested in reading it 🙂
